CAUSE
This internal error is usually caused by an unsupported filesystem in the virtual machine.
Rubrik supports indexing of the specified guest OS file systems for all virtual environments:
NTFS, Ext2, Ext3, Ext4, freebsd-ufs, hfs, hfsplus, jfs, minix, msdos, qnx4, Reiserfs, ufs, vfat, xfs, BTRFS
Useful commands to identify the filesystem used by the VM include the following ones:
- df -T
- lsblk -f
- mount | grep -v "/dev"
RESOLUTION
Using a non-supported file system results in failed indexing. This results in losing the ability to perform file-level restores.
However, restoring is still possible to perform restores or export the whole VM/VApp.
